There is more to Edinburgh than just the castle and the kilts! Edinburgh is actually an incredible place for culinary geeks and foodies!

With world-class restaurants and incredible culinary tours – you could easily spend a few days here, simply dedicating your time to exploring the incredible food on offer in this great city. Or perhaps – in between your sightseeing you want to fit in some incredible meals and experiences. Either way suits us!

Here are a few of our recommendations:

  1. Whisky Tasting Tours

Scottish Whisky is amongst the best in the world – and there are plenty of companies who offer fantastic tasting tours for Whisky lovers! But you don’t have to be an expert to enjoy these tours – many are tailored to beginners too – so by the end you’ll know everything there is to know about Whisky.

This traditionally Scottish restaurant is one for the food lovers! You’ll adore this restaurant if you want to try all the great local produce and local recipes that have been handed down through generations.

  1. Rhubarb Restaurant

For over-the-top décor and succulent surroundings, this is definitely the place to be. The food is rich and expertly put together, and you’ll feel a little guilty tucking in to their yummy, beautifully presented creations!

  1. Oloroso Restaurant

For a booking in this restaurant you may have to call ahead in advance – as this is one of the cities most stylish and exclusive joints. Which incredible views across the rooftops of the city, and incredible dinner dishes to match –  you’ll have to be dragged out!

  1. Traditional Farming Experience

If you love trying fresh produce, and seeing how food is made – there are several amazing farm tours that operate just outside Edinburgh. You’ll get to see how the food is made and gathered – but you’ll also get to taste some of their best exports too.

  1. Try some Haggis

No trip to Scotland would be complete without at least sampling some Haggis. Many of the pubs in the city centre serve up this tasty treat – so make sure you set aside time to try some! It’ll be a story to tell – even if you don’t enjoy it so much!

Serving up the very best Haggis and Whisky this pub is a must for anyone wanting to sample the traditional Scottish food and drink – as well as the Scottish hospitality and atmosphere too.

If you truly want to take something away from your visit – then why not take a traditional Scottish cooking class whilst you’re in the city? You could head home with a new skill to impress your friends and family with!
