10 Amazing Hawaii Vacation Hot Spots

Vacationers looking for breathtaking views and wildlife encounters in Hawaii will definitely want to check out these ten amazing vacation hot spots.

1. WAIMEA CANYON: Kauai, the Hawaii island furthest north, is known for its rich botanical gardens, vast canyons and beautiful beaches, including Poipu Beach and Hanalei Bay. But the area’s most treasured natural wonder is Waimea Canyon, which is frequently referred to as “The Grand Canyon of the Pacific.” The canyon is 14 miles wide and more than 3,500 feet deep. Various tours of the canyon are offered, including a tour by mule.

2. SPOUTING HORN: Every year, thousands flock to Kauai’s famous blowhole, Sprouting Horn. The spout is created by ocean waters entering and exiting a natural lava tube. Legend says the spout is created by the giant lizard Kaikapu, who many years ago got stuck in the lava tube while chasing a young boy.

3. PEARL HARBOR: Vacationers on the island of Oahu will definitely want to take in tours of the USS Arizona Memorial, the Battleship Missouri Memorial, the USS Bowfin Submarine Musueum and Park, the Pacific Aviation Museum and the USS Oklahoma Memorial. There is a lot to see and learn about Japan’s attack on Hawaii back in 1941.

4. MOOULA FALLS: The island of Molokai draws smaller crowds and, therefore, offers vacationers a chance to relax and take in all the island’s natural beauty. Bike tours, hiking and mule excursions offer tourists amazing views of lush wilderness and the 250-foot Mooula Falls. Those who want a closer look should be prepared for a strenuous 4.5-mile hike.

5. HULOPOE BAY AND SHIPWRECK BEACH: The island of Molokai also offers visitors a chance to view dolphins playing in the protected Hulopoe Bay. And, if you’re looking for an interesting place to sunbathe, check out the nearby Shipwreck Beach, home to a ghostly wrecked vessel.

6. SWEETHEART ROCK: Vacationers can enjoy a romantic dinner in Lanai City before heading out to see Sweetheart Rock. The legend says a young Hawaiian warrior jumped to his death after a storm drowned his beloved.

7. MAUI OCEAN CENTER: Maui is one of the most visited islands in Hawaii because it offers vacationers a little bit of everything, including fine dining, shopping, cultural hot spots and breathtaking views of nature. But it’s the water and sea life that really draws the crowds. Surfing and whale watching are two of the most popular reasons people flock to Maui, so it only makes sense that this island would be home to the area’s most prized aquarium. At the Maui Ocean Center visitors can get up close to sharks and manta rays swimming in the 750,000 gallon tank.

8. VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK: Among the Big Island’s natural wonders is one of the world’s most active volcanoes, located in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Helicopter rides offer a breathtaking aerial view, but hiking and biking tours are also available. This volcano is the reason the island is so large, and it continues to grow as the lava settles and cools.

9. POLIHUA BEACH: The island of Lanai boasts ideal viewing of humpback whales (from January to March) and endangered green sea turtles. Visitors can reach the beach by four-wheeler and comb the beach, but swimming isn’t allowed. Turtles should not be touched or disturbed.

10. DIAMOND HEAD CRATER: This crater was created by an extinct volcano. Be prepared for a long, scenic drive followed by a lot of walking. Hikers can take the hour-long hike to the top of Diamond Head Crater for a breathtaking view. Be sure to pack a lunch and plenty of water on this excursion.

Hawaii cities like Waikiki, Lanai and Honolulu offer many choices in hotels, but those who wish to rent a condo should ask about rental options at Honolulu real estate offices. Reservations are generally required.

Those who visit Hawaii soon realize it takes a lifetime to explore all of the islands’ unique offerings. If you are interested in purchasing a condo, Honolulu real estate brokers can help you find the perfect home for you.

Hulopoe Bay and Shipwreck Beach are on Lanai, not Molokai, and are on different sides of the island, not ‘nearby’. Sweetheart Rock is hiked to, not casually viewed after dinner.

I want to see Hawaii one day but then again, I want to see everywhere.

The story of Pearl harbor always intrigues my though and I would love to go on the tour that you mention.
