It’s coming to that time of year again when you need to start thinking about where to take your holidays and are torn between the UK or abroad. Go abroad and you’re guaranteed (well almost) sun, sea and sand. However it is more than likely going to cost more. Stay in the UK and the cost is on your side, but unfortunately the weather might not be. Likewise, you need to decide what kind of break you’re looking for; is it just a short holiday or something longer that may stretch as long as a career break? So just to help you, here are some great travel destinations both home and away.
Cuba
For those of you who are looking to spread your wings, then Cuba just may be the place for you. With direct flights from the UK, getting to the largest of the Caribbean islands is easy and reasonably priced. Cuba has a great mix of stunning beaches, idyllic countryside, historic towns and cities and a vivacious culture that is unparalleled. Opt to stay in Havana for a few days to experience everything this vibrant city has to offer, then head on down to the stunning beaches or the Varradero coastline, where you can soak up the sun and relax.
Morocco
You don’t have to travel thousands of miles to experience the awe inspiring sights, sounds and smells of the African continent. Just across the water from southern Spain lies Morocco and all the mystique, charm and sensory overload that you would expect. Morocco is a country of opposites. On the one hand you have the madness and mayhem, hustle and bustle of the must see market cities of Marrakesh and Fez and on the other you have the stunning views and rugged peaks of the Atlas mountains or the vastness and splendour that is the Sahara dessert.
Warwickshire
If you prefer to take UK breaks then why not try the beautiful county of Warwickshire. Enjoy the genteel hills and chocolate box perfect villages of the Cotswolds on your doorstep or visit the stunning Warwick castle set in acres of landscaped gardens and waterways, or Stratford -Upon-Avon, the birthplace of the Bard himself, Whether you are after peace and tranquillity, historic landmarks, or vibrant cities such as Coventry, Warwickshire is a great place to visit.
Norfolk
If you like your holidays a little laid back then a visit to Norfolk just might be the thing. There’s great group accommodation in Norfolk if you want to go with a large group of family and friends. If you fancy a trip to the seaside, then why not visit Great Yarmouth. Here you can take in a show, eat fish and chips whilst walking along the pier, or simply stroll along the beach. Alternatively you can visit the city of Norwich, with its historic buildings, designer boutiques, upmarket cafe’s and restaurants and cultural charm. A trip to Norfolk wouldn’t be complete without hiring a boat on the Norfolk Broads. Moor up your boat at the many quaint towns and villages situated along the waterways such as Wroxham, Potter Heigham or Haddiscoe and take in a slice of laid back Norfolk life.
