Travellers heading to London will definitely want to seek out Paddington whether they are staying there or not. This gorgeous part of west London is centrally located and has two Royal Parks. It also includes parts of the exciting West End, the beautiful Grand Union Canal and the famous district of Notting Hill. The stunning Grade I listed London Paddington station is known for being designed by engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel and is also famous for its links to Paddington Bear. The area is known for the research done at St Mary’s Hospital by Sir Alexander Fleming and for the births of many members of the current Royal Family. The area of Paddington is certainly an interesting part of the capital and worth visiting.

Hyde Park is only a few minutes away from Paddington Station and is a wonderful place to venture to with all the family. Here young ones can have fun in the playground dedicated to Princess Diana or have a go at football or tennis. There is an opportunity to take a boat or pedalo out on the Serpentine Lake, or go horse-riding on the beautiful bridleways. Guests at this Royal Park can head next door to Kensington Palace to have a wander around its pretty gardens. Travellers who like attractive scenery should take a boat ride along Regent’s Canal and end up at the brilliant Little Venice area where there are great restaurants and cafes.

From Little Venice tourists can actually get a boat to Camden Town where they can do some shopping or eat delicious street food. Here there is also a firm family favourite with ZSL London Zoo that offers a range of amazing animals, birds and reptiles. Travellers should also take the canal towpath towards the lovely area of Sheldon Square where there is a green space and an amphitheatre, outdoor ping pong and a big screen for free films in the summer. There are two gorgeous areas that are ideal for picnics including Norfolk Square Gardens and Talbot Square Gardens that have relaxing deckchairs and a giant chess board.

London Paddington Station is a fantastic transport stop that offers great links to the rest of the UK with trains that head to destinations including Bristol, Bath, Cardiff and Oxford. All of these are fabulous places to head to for a day trip or longer. Paddington Station is also very useful because it has the fantastic Heathrow Express train that travels very quickly in around 15 minutes to Heathrow Airport. It leaves every quarter of an hour providing the best service for travellers who need to get to the airport easily to ensure they catch their flight.
