The United Arab Emirates has plenty of fascinating man-made destinations for travellers to head to when on holiday there. Lulu Island is a great example of this found just off the coast of the country’s capital Abu Dhabi. It was created to protect the city from the high tides of the Arabian Gulf and stretches from Abu Dhabi to the Zayed Sea Port. Around 600 metres wide it faces the capital’s popular Corniche area where many travellers visit for a walk along the marina, cycle or swim in the water. There are many islands similar to this gorgeous space but as yet nothing has been fully developed on Lulu Island for tourists to actually visit.
This could change in the near future with plans to create a residential area, but at present it can only be accessed by private boat during this development. There will soon be a new permanent bridge from the mainland to the island and there are ideas being formed for it to have a landmark known as Lulu Tower. This island was made in the early 1980s with the intention of it becoming an entertainment destination. Of course there are many other made-made islands to visit when in Abu Dhabi. Yas Island is a brilliant example of somewhere travellers should definitely take a visit, which can be reached either by plane, boat or car.
This island is ideal for families as it includes many popular attractions such as Ferrari World that has Formula Rossa, which is the world’s fastest rollercoaster. Yas Waterworld is also a fantastic destination that offers many water-based activities and is perfect for children. There is also a lovely beach area, and Yas Links that offers an award-winning golf course with meeting and conference rooms. This amazing destination also has the famous Yas Marina Circuit that hosts the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Travellers can take part in their own driver experiences at this iconic venue. For shopping fans there is Yas Mall that is one of the largest shopping centres the United Arab Emirates has to offer visitors in the country.
There are a number of other islands to visit including Reem Island and Al Maryah Island. Abu Dhabi is itself a fantastic destination and provides a long list of exciting hotel options. A great one to choose is Al Seef Resort and Spa by Andalus. Guests will be spoilt with the choice available for a hotel and resort in Abu Dhabi, but picking this accommodation is a wise decision. The five-star tag really does matter as the residence looks totally exquisite with beautiful suites in low-rise villas that allow travellers to feel incredibly comfortable.
They have numerous modern amenities such as Wi-Fi internet that is ideal for both work and leisure travellers to check emails or the news. There is a stunning kitchen in the living spaces as well as a lovely lounge area ideal for entertaining guests. The magnificent Mediterranean-influenced décor is just right for the living spaces and guests can choose a garden or pool suite. There is a personal butler available for tourists to ask for whatever they need. There are four outdoor swimming pools, and a Jacuzzi that is an ideal place to relax.
