Elephantine Island & Botanical Garden by Felucca

Aswan High Dam
The world famous High dam was an engineering miracle when it was built in the 1960s, in cooperation with the Soviet Union.
It created a huge lake; Lake Nasser of 500km long & 12 large when it was built. Today,
it provides Irrigation and Electricity for the whole of Egypt, and together with the Old Aswan Dam,
6kms downriver offers wonderful views for visitors. From the top of the High Dam,
you can gaze across Lake Nasser, at Kalabsha Temple in the south and the huge power station to the north.
