Santa Barbara is a great place to visit, no matter the time of year. There is so much to do here, it never ceases to amaze how gorgeous this place truly is. State street, hiking in the hills, wine tasting, etc, there is just so much to do and experience. Whenever I’m in Santa Barbara I make a point at staying at the Sandman Inn (thesandmaninn.com). A budget friendly hotel located on State street, it is close to all the action and allows me to get everything I want out of my vacation, without dropping the outrageous prices of most hotels in SB.

Thanks for the tip Taylor! My husband and I stayed at The Sandman Inn last week and really enjoyed it. In the past we have spent so much on Santa Barbara hotels that we haven’t been able to splurge on the great shopping and delicious food and wine, but we took your advice and checked out the sandman and were very impressed! We took the money we saved and went out for a great dinner at Palazzio on State…it was a fabulous date. Take care!

I agree with Taylor; the Sandman Inn is a great place to stay if you want to be in the thick of downtown and really close to the action. I have stayed there a few times and each and every time I have a good vacation! I was actually just in Santa Barbara for Fiestas and we had such a good time but it was a relief after a long day to stay somewhere that we were able to escape the noise and get a good nights rest at a very elegant hotel; The South Coast Inn (www.santa-barbara-hotel.com). I totally recommend it!

  4. Raymond says:

Wow! Both the Sandman Inn and the South Coast Inn are excellent hotels to look into when in Santa Barbara. Both offer different things to accommodate specific travelers. If you are looking to be closer to the action and spend next to nothing and stay in a great place, the Sandman Inn is for you! The South Coast Inn is perfect for people looking for that much needed R&R! Best place to escape the city. Hope you all enjoy Santa Barbara!

There is a lot of attention of Santa Barbara these days and it being one of the best places to travel to. Glad people are looking into more budget friendly hotels or real elegance though it isn’t technically in SB. I’ve stayed at both hotels and they are fine hotels and allow the visitor comfort as well as a great place to stay.
