Taking A Short Break In New York

Last weekend I went on a shopping trip to New York. It really is a sign of the times when you can hop on a plane and head of to a fantastic city such as New York for a couple of days. The fantastic thing was that it wasn’t even that expensive for the flights and hotels. I was actually looking in the newspaper and saw a cheap flight to New York and I decided that I should just go for it. I always thought that the prices advertised were never really the price that you got when you tried to book but I was glad to be proved wrong about this. After paying for both my flights and accommodation, I was only down four hundred pounds; I couldn’t believe it.

Many people actually consider New York to be the shopping capital of the world. With so much temptation on offer, I really had to resist the urge to max out my credit cards. And even though I had a lot of will power, I really did spend quite a bit. There really is a lot of entertainment on offer too in New York. On the first night I visited a trendy restaurant and a few proper New York bars – the fact that I was a single woman didn’t seem to bother anyone. I really will never forget my second night as I went to an amazing show on Boadway; it truly was an unforgettable experience.

For anyone thinking about taking a short break like this I would highly recommend it because it is so inexpensive. I would be straight back on the plane in a flash if I could. If you can take a break or two throughout the year, it does wonders for our sanity. One foreign holiday a year is just not enough – a weekend break is enough to keep us going through the winter – at least that’s what I think anyway.

New York is always the place to be. I mean, so many things going around this city. Not to mention popular people who came and live in this city. Really a nice place to stay.
